ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Emerson. I am 24 years old and I have been producing music now for 14+ years. It has become a lifelong passion/addiction for me and is possibly the most fun I have. I also play the piano as it is a skill I have needed to further my production skills. Being allowed to be creative without limits really makes me feel free and I always try to produce my music without limiting myself to one genre/style. My story has many changes over the years so let's start from the beginning.
When I was 6 years old my grandad bought me a keyboard, it was probably cheap and rubbish, but I loved it and loved playing along the beats what came with it. I played it everyday even ruining the keys by writing the notes on in felt tip. The next step was when I was in primary school around the age of 8/9 years old, in I.C.T I found a piece of software that really intrigued me called Dance eJay. It was a very basic DAW(Digital Audio Workstation) that allowed you to use loops to make whatever you liked. Although this was the real starting point my interest in the hobby never really took off from there. The next step was for my 9th Birthday, I received a very basic set of DJ decks.

The big step for me was when in my first year in secondary school around the age of 10-11, I found a program called Fruity Loops (FL Studio) and many helpful tutorials online about how to use it. After one all-nighter before school I continuously played with it, trying my hardest to make something recognisable. It was Rubbish. But I never gave in, I couldn't. It had become an addiction.
As I got older going through my teens, I gradually started to upgrade my gear and DJ for friends parties. Around this time I made the switch from FL Studio to Reason by Propellerhead. This is when my music actually started to sound good, and it taught me a lot about synthesis and wiring as Reason is laid out like a real studio, with ins and outs and you actually have to patch wires yourself.
At age 16 I made a remix of Robin S - Show Me Love, which managed to get a bit of attention from quite a famous DJ/producer called Jamie Duggan, sharing it on his Facebook page. After going to college and studying Music Technology, I changed programs as Reason couldn't offer the features I needed to grow as a music Producer. I switched to Ableton, what many consider alongside Logic to be the industry standard when it comes to DAWs.
In 2017 one of my demos was played by DJ Target Live on Radio 1xtra. In 2018 however, due to personal problems I suddenly stopped making music, I also lost my hard drive containing everything I had collected over the years thus losing my motivational drive. It took 4 years to get the motivation to start again due to the massive loss but I did exactly that. In 2022 I came back with a remix of Varksi - Hypnotic for a remix competition, finishing 14th. Since my return I have dabbled in a lot more genres and find myself a lot more open minded about the whole process.

In my downtime I love to do crazy things such as skydiving and aerobatics.
